Charlotte Cox is The Kinetic People’s Service Coordinator. She began working in mental health as an Admissions Counselor at a residential treatment program while she completed her BA at Naropa University, studying Psychology. Once she graduated, Charlotte became the Director of Admissions at the program. After 5 years in that role, Charlotte moved from Boulder, CO to Santa Barbara, CA and took on an admissions role for an interventionist and educational consultant based in Los Angeles. She also did some sober transporting for the company. She took some time off to have children and then worked again for the CO based residential program as an outreach specialist.
Charlotte has received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and attends meditation and mindfulness workshops regularly at Pacifica Graduate Institute and other local organizations.
As an adolescent, Charlotte struggled with depression and addiction. Her family used an educational consultant to support her journey to therapy, treatment and recovery. It took a few placements, but eventually, she was ready to receive the help and put it all to action. She enjoys sharing her personal journey of being in recovery from addiction for over 13 years, and connecting with individuals and families needing support like she and her family once needed.
Now, Charlotte has 3 young children, a husband and a dog named Coconut, who all keep her busy. When she’s not working or chasing after her boys, Charlotte loves to be active: trail running is her sport. She also loves practicing yoga, meditation, cooking and spending time at the local beaches.
